About
My Physio Mentor is a story born of frustration and resiliance. Marcus Johnson had applied twice to PT school, and both times had his application rejected. He’d followed the advice, he’d written the essay, he’d put in the hours, he’d done all he was told to do. Yet, it still wasn’t enough.
He decided there must be a better way.
This set him on a journey to find that better way. Through reading forums and websites, meeting with professors and mentors, listening to podcasts and interviews, and visiting Facebook groups, he realized there is a better way.
He realized the PT application is just like anything else in life — after you understand it, you can develop a strategy to give yourself the best shot.
Applying what he learned, he got into the highly competitive PT school at UW. He and his 46 classmates beat out 1,300 applicants for those spots.
He now teaches other aspiring PT students strategies for optimizing their application, so they can save time, money, and reach their dream of working in the PT field.
Meet Your Team

Marcus Johnson PT, DPT, CSCS
Your Physio Mentor, Marcus Johnson is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who, looking back on his journey, wants to help others get into PT school. The application process can be daunting, confusing, and frustrating, leading many potential PT’s to waste time and money.
It took him 3 years to get into the University of Washington Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. He wouldn’t change a thing, but it would have been nice to avoid the hassle of re-applying twice.
He is currently an acute care physical therapist supporting the Trauma and Acute Surgery (TACS) team at a local hospital and lives with his wife and family in Shoreline, Washington.
